2011 in Review

2011 closed in as unusual a fashion as it began. Mother Nature was at her most unpredictable all year. Blame on whatever you want, she was, and perhaps still is, pissed. Or, at best, she is just amusing herself by being capricious. I’m writing this on a bright sun-filled day during which I lounged on the front porch reading a novel. It is January and I wore only a light jacket.

I left you (assuming there is a reader or two still out there) in the heat of last summer so now it’s time to do a bit of catch-up. It is quite warm for this time of year. Ye, there is often a most-welcomed January thaw around early winter, but this year we have little but a few days to thaw out from! Dandelions were showing off their golden tresses in the driveway just a few weeks ago and we have had very little snow to speak of so far.

So … in the next few posts, some highlights from the year and then onto “now” again.
