First Frost

Although I had plenty of good intentions to keep this blog up to date, the months slipped away from me and suddenly we went from bud to leaf-fall with barely a nod to these pages. Today we had the first frost of fall and here we are again!

On a good note, this season was a very comfortable one despite the very dry and erratic weather. Both of our roof water collection ponds are still pretty empty and that shows how little rainfall we have had. We had to water beds that usually take care of themselves and it meant that some crops, especially the peppers, didn’t do that well.

Yet, like I said, it was comfortable. We felt more organized, more weeded than previous seasons … and we got lots more done! Life is good.
